AVP 8x40 Infrared Monocular
The TakLite Infrared Monocular is one of the most affordable entry-level night vision devices money can buy. It works by using a wavelength of light which is invisible to the human eye but detectable by the specialized sensors onboard. Unlike traditional tube-based night vision devices which require ambient light, the TakLite Infrared Monocular requires no ambient light since it is capable of producing its own. In fact, the sensor sensitivity is so good that it is often not even necessary to engage the illuminator.
The frame is constructed from the same tempered aluminum found in our flashlights. It features a native optical zoom of 5X and an onboard digital zoom of 8X. The lens diameter measures 40mm and the playback resolution is 720P. Full control is given to the user. Infrared illumination can be fully disabled if desired. The camera also captures color until it becomes too dark at which point it will capture in monochrome
