The VULCAN is the only handheld monocular we know of that combines two completely different night vision technologies into a single device: thermal imaging and 940nm digital infrared night vision. Switch between them with a single button press.

Thermal imaging detects heat signatures — people, animals, vehicles — regardless of lighting conditions, camouflage, or concealment. Digital infrared night vision produces a high-resolution image in complete darkness using a 940nm IR illuminator invisible to the naked eye. Each technology has strengths the other lacks. The VULCAN gives you both.

Thermal Mode

The 256x192 vanadium oxide (VOx) thermal core with 12µm pixel pitch provides high-contrast heat detection at distances up to approximately 900 feet for humans and large animals, and up to 2,500 feet for vehicles. Nine selectable thermal palettes let you dial in the optimal view for your environment. The 60° field of view keeps the scene wide enough for scanning while maintaining useful detection range.

Near-Infrared Mode

The 640x512 NIR sensor paired with a 940nm infrared illuminator delivers a sharp, detailed image in total darkness. With a wide 35° field of view and 1X magnification — the same FPV perspective as the TakLite IRIS — it's a true wide-angle, no-tunnel-vision experience.

11 Viewing Modes

Nine thermal palettes, one near-infrared monochromatic mode, and one standard color mode. Whether you're scanning for heat signatures at dusk or navigating a trail in complete darkness, there's a mode optimized for the conditions.

Battery & Charging

The rechargeable 2,000mAh lithium-ion battery provides approximately 90 minutes of continuous use in thermal mode and 3 hours in near-infrared mode. Charging is via USB-C.

What's Important to Know

The VULCAN operates in one mode at a time — thermal or infrared — and switching between them is instant (single button press). The two views cannot be overlaid simultaneously. This is a recreational observation device intended for hunting, property surveillance, wildlife observation, and general outdoor use. It is covered by a limited one-year warranty against manufacturer defects, with all service performed in the United States.

The VULCAN is not a fusion device. The two operating modes, thermal night vision and digital night vision, can not be overlaid on top of each other and used at the same time. Switching between the modes is very simple and only requires the press of a button; however, only one mode can be active at any given time.
